Queenston Mile Vineyard

Here’s a sunny summer trio from the new Queenston Mile Winery and winemaker Rob Power, who also makes wine at Creekside: a mineral-packed white blend, supple textured rosé and berry-forward pinot noir.

Queenston Mile White 2017
VQA Niagara Peninsula, $25.00
When we talk about crisp cool-climate whites, this is what we’re talking about. A blend of five grapes, with bright apple and pear with citrus and mineral. An ideal summer sipper. Racy enough for salty snacks and soft cheeses.

Queenston Mile Pinot Noir Rosé 2017
VQA St. David’s Bench, $30.00
Made from 100% pinot noir, this delightful rosé delivers ripe sour cherries and wild raspberries backed with faint fresh herbs. Refreshing and delicious as a sipper or with light summer fare. Beautiful texture.

Queenston Mile Pinot Noir 2017
VQA St. David’s Bench,  $40.00
A silky smooth pinot brimming with red and black berry fruit, soft leather and a touch of damp earth. Quite approachable now, though very youthful. Consider giving this six months or more, then fry up a duck breast.
